The floating footer should feature a bookmarks tag to make it easy for users to bookmark a thread or category and return to it later.
This functionality is built into Discourse already, we just need to move it closer to the user.
To bookmark a page simply click G + B on your keyboard together. We can package that in a button.
You can also redirect a user to https://publichappinessmovement.com/bookmarks so they can see their bookmarks
My UX suggestion would be:
- Clicking the tab opens https://publichappinessmovement.com/bookmarks
- On touch screen pressing the screen opens an accordion drop down button (a drop up?) so users can either remove their finger to complete the ‘click’, or swipe up in a long press to highlight the option which would be ‘+ to bookmarks’
- Non touch screen would be the the same, press down mouse button opens accordion, releasing opens the highlighted option.
