Getting Started: Random Acts of Kindness

Although Random Acts of Kindness has become the popular name, our activities are not random. Here you can work with our scholars team to suggest, test, review ideas with pier-reviewed scientific studies to support their positive impact on the world around you. Visit the Local map to create and join events.

In this category there are currently two sub-categories:

A list of pre-approved Public Happiness activities

All suggested activities come with tips and how-to-guides from our experienced happiness creators, along with links to the latest scientific studies gathered by our @Scholars Team to support that your act of kindness will indeed have a small positive impact on people and the community where you live.

Post an Activity on our happiness map in the ‘Local’ side by clicking the Gather guide, then message any members living near you who have posted themselves onto the map to invite them to join.

Suggestions

In this sub category you can suggest and discuss new ideas for kind public activities. This is a great opportunity for others to shape and strengthen the idea, bringing your awareness of things that will help lead to your activities success.

No need to be bashful, its rare an idea will be rejected outright by the community unless it contradicts our community values statement.

Once an idea is approved by the community you’ll be encouraged to go give it a trial run then report back. Or you can ask others here if they’d like to try it out for you, tagging the @HappinessLeader group is a good idea.

After your feedback and review is received members will vote on whether the idea is ready to go into the approved list, if it needs changes and another trial run, or if it simply didn’t achieve its stated goal… which is ok, it happens to us all from time to time
