Meeting notes 13/6/2025

  1. Categories should show sub categories when clicked. Currently not working.
  2. Forms will be split into two based on the first field as ‘put myself onto the map’ is something users only need to do once so it doesn’t need to be on the form. It should be part of their initial onboarding and it should live in their profile page.

To return to later:

email sent to Marv with google maps api warning.

I also sent to Tom who replied:

Can you view any of the keys they’re mentioning and see if they’re in any of the app configs?

I’m not sure, can we?

Review and bugs noticed after commit:

  1. address doesn’t connect with address finder database. Anything you type is accepted and doesn’t appear to connect to any addresses database
  2. Scroll up and down on form isn’t working. I have to zoom out to see the bottom of the forms.
  3. Categories don’t expand when clicked. Its also not clear if they are selected or not when clicked as there is no visual confirmation. Expected behaviour: top level category expands to allow user to select the sub categories. When selected sub category should stay highlighted blue to show it has been selected.
  4. Specific days of the week expanding area should have a time picker too, as if its on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. people will want to know what time.
  5. ‘Other options for repeating’ should have:
    • ‘weekly’ ‘monthly’ ‘yearly’.
    • selecting ‘monthly’ gives user option to select ‘first, second, third, fourth’ week of the month and ‘on this date’ or ‘on this day’. For example it might be on the 15th every month, or it might be on the 1st Saturday. The time picker also is on the screen so users can set the time the activity occurs.
    • selecting ‘yearly’ give a month drop down, then the options from the ‘monthly’ tab, so maybe its on the 1st of September every year from 7:00 till 13:00. Maybe it’s on the 1st Saturday on September every year at the same time.
  6. Add a video dropdown doesn’t show video hosts (youtube, vimeo, etc). It should also add the 1st part of the url into the url box below, and it should validate the final url they add to make sure users don’t put something illegal in there. We force users to use established video hosts only as they check for that content with much better filters than are available to us, and also they’d be liable rather than us if it was a highly illegal video shared.
  7. After posting there should be a third page confirming their post has gone live and with ‘share to your social media’ options. We don’t know if this is working or not as we can’t submit a form right now.
  8. Some existing posts onto the map appear to be broken. Some work. We should clean up the database. Something to check after. There used to be a basic admin area. I’m not sure if it can still be accessed and used.

Google address autocomplete and lookup widget. This looks like the one we used before:
