Doing Random Acts of Kindness while travelling is the most effective way i’ve ever found to meet positive, inspiring people in a new place.
This platform isn’t for accommodation, though some of our members choose to support and get to know others in the community better by offering a spare bed, couch, or useful help for kindness creating travellers like a shower or washing machine for those in a camper van.
How to Host
1a. If you haven’t already Put Yourself on the Map
1b. If you have, click your profile on the map and click the big green ‘edit’ button
-
In the top toggle set yourself to ‘Hosting’
-
That’s it. Other members will reach out to you when travelling to ask if you’d like to host, or offer a shower/washing machine load
Finding Hosts
- Click the filters modal on the Maps
- Select/unselect so only the Hosts box in the PHM Community drop down, and see who’s available
Any offer of hospitality is a personal, voluntary decision made independently between members. The platform doesn’t arrange stays, doesn’t recommend hosts or guests, and doesn’t reward hosting in any way.
Because this is a community of peers, the platform isn’t able to personally verify members or endorse anyone’s safety. Different hosts approach this differently - many choose to get to know people through community activities, conversations, or by reading about others’ past interactions before deciding whether they feel comfortable hosting.
If you do choose to host, it’s always your decision and should be based on your own judgement and comfort level.
If you experience safety concerns during hosting, or at activities, please report them to the moderation team so we can review the situation in line with our community guidelines.
If members choose to show appreciation for someone’s generosity using PHM tokens, that’s a personal gesture between members and not something required, tracked, or encouraged by the platform.
